Staff safety is paramount within the company and priority is given to ensuring that all staff receive appropriate health and safety training in their specific area of expertise.
The nature of our business requires specialist contractors to assist in the undertaking of the company’s activities and the management of those contractors presents additional health and safety challenges. The company remains committed to working with our contractors to minimise risk and ensure the safety and security of all our sites.
Alkane assesses contractors' health and safety performance as part of the tender or selection process and also develops and agrees project-specific procedures with all contractors. Site safety induction training and audits during are carried out throughout the duration of the work.
The company's performance in health and safety, environment and quality is reviewed monthly at our SHEQ meetings. The meetings are attended by a cross section of our employees representing all functions in the business. In this way we are able to promote best practice, monitor and review performance and achieve continuous improvement.
