ACMMO - Association of Coal Mine Methane Operators

ACMMO believes that there is potential for a significant expansion in the industry to 150MW while reducing UK carbon dioxide emissions by around 1.4 million tonnes per year. This expansion would be accelerated by the inclusion of coal mine methane with landfill gas in the Renewables Obligation while helping the Government to achieve its renewables and emissions reduction targets. Germany and France produce more than 250MW of electricity from this source as they both include recoverable mine methane as a renewable source.
